Mummy Week

Week 5 done!  This week flew by--I can't believe how fast it went.  Nathan had school in his tent most days so he was thrilled.  We talked about the letter 'T', camping, Abraham and stars.  Busy week!

Nathan loves to paint!!  He's painting stars here and we later added a tent that turned out pretty darn cute.  Impressive crafting this year.  :)

Samuel had a good week and I feel like a slacker with his pictures. My supervising teacher's advice was to make him focus and listen for the basics and then just let him play. That's been our plan and he does a ton better with his attitude and participation--but it's hard to get pictures in.  He actually colored nicely and willingly this day--kind of a shocker.

Fridays are still exploration days for Samuel so we did some bark rubbings for science. (He's using his left hand in this picture because he had invaluable slime in the other hand.)

Hunter and Lily had a fun, full week.  They painted the prettiest Spring pictures while listening to Vivaldi's Spring music.

We FINALLY opened our Ancient Egypt chest that we bought used last year.  They had been so anxious to see what's inside.   We have learned just a ton about the Ancient Egyptians--very fascinating!  We watched Horrible Histories' mummy video and watched a video of Ancient Egpytian Legos build a pyramid.  Also, Cleopatra's song by Horrible Histories is a hit here!!

For science this week, we mummified apples with different solutions to see what worked best.

Finally, we built paper bag sukkahs to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
