Longest Week Ever

Boy, this week was just never-ending.  We got through it.  In fact, Friday came and we finished up with our week's work by lunch so had half a day to just relax (or clean).  :)  I think we're all getting antsy for spring and the end of the school year!!

Nathan did a little bit of work this week but he had some time off for his nasty cough, too.

Samuel had a good week.  He's reading a bit quicker and remembering things better.  Progress!!

Kinda blurry but the only picture I managed to get of the twins.  This is art, I believe.  Lily was relieved we didn't have painting this week.  :)  The really funny thing about this picture is that Hunter is in a sleeveless shirt and Lily is wearing a Christmas shirt.  Ha!  No pressure when you don't leave the house for school.

Monday's Scout activity was kite flying.  This is the 1st year the weather has somewhat cooperated (it was cold, though!).

We are ready to move on to April and, hopefully, warmer weather.

Mid-March

Samuel and I had fun Friday and played games for our work.  This is a chutes and ladders-type game.  He loves to beat me at everything.  :)

We made cookies to have with our movie afternoon (Frozen, of course) and Hunter decided to do his work right next to them.

On Friday, I thought I had better get a picture of something Hunter and Lily have done this week.  :)  So, this is just them writing the title of their notebook page.  We've been busy and consistent with school but it's just not picture-worthy.

We've started our painting in art and Hunter just loves it.  Lily does not and it cracks me up.  It's the mixing of paint that really gets to her.  Our cat has a thing for the smell of paint and I have to lock her up every time we start painting.

Nathan and I had some fun crafts this week.  We had a policeman day:

And, we had a doctor day with the cutest doctor kit craft ever.  The twins and I were trying to do our work but he came up and checked Hunter out.  Hunter was so patient and kind with him, it was a collage-worthy moment.

Busy, Busy

Hunter did some creating with the big roll of paper, which the cat thinks we get out for just her.  :)  She even bit Samuel when he tried to draw in "her spot".

We had a fun playdate with some cousins.

Nathan and I explored money this week (letter m).

On Saturday, we went to my Grandma's surprise 80th birthday.

The kids enjoyed some travel pillows/blankets for the ride.  :)

We had a good and busy week of school and, obviously, not a lot of pictures were taken.  Now, we are working through sickness and getting ready for a new week.  We are definitely nearing the end of a couple subjects so that's exciting to see!

Reward Week

This week, we had 3 days of school because of some busyness.  Instead of taking a full week for spring break, we're breaking it up a bit.  We had some relaxation time:

We also got some work done.  Lily colored her picture of Handel quickly so she could jot notes down on the biography CD we were listening to because I warned them I was going to ask questions.  :)

Hunter wasn't worried and spent the time making the most colorful Handel ever.

 Nathan decorated Y with yarn:

On Thursday, we had no school because I was gone for the morning and then we had our prize!  The prize was going to the Lego movie--they sat in the 1st row and it was pretty empty, as you can tell.  :)  Everyone liked the movie!

No school for Friday since I had a long dental appointment and then went home to recover from the trauma.  The weekend was full of errands, including hair cuts:

And bonding time.  Lily and I had a girl day but we took my Dad with us.  ha!  We ate at Red Lobster because she wanted to try lobster and crab.  Then, we went shopping for an Easter dress and got her hair cut.  It was a fun day!

The boys didn't miss us.  They ate at Culver's...

...and then shopped Theisen's before spending time in this warmer weather.

Good-bye February!

P for Pig this week!  We had some fun making a barn scene, lacing a pig and building with barn blocks.

Nathan quickly realized his lacing thread was more fun when used to tease the cat.  :)

Samuel enjoyed handwriting about a thousand times more using this plate of salt.  It was amazing.  He also had Dad school one day this week--he likes that change every now and then.

Hunter and Lily's curriculum is kind of boring right now.  They listen to a lot of reading!!  But, Hunter had requested chocolate chip muffins so we spent some time baking.  They all love helping and it's good to learn by doing every once in awhile.
