Happy Easter!

For some reason, Easter kind of snuck up on me. I hadn't really decorated and I was running out to finish getting basket goodies. Saturday morning we were coloring eggs and we had an Easter get together that afternoon. It was crazy. Unfortunately, the boys (all 3 + Brian) got nasty colds right before the big day. Nathan was especially cranky with it so we kept it low key Easter morning and stayed in.

Isn't this a strange group picture?  Ha!

Bonding with Aunt Lisa!

*Home*

I know it's bad that I only have pics of Nathan for the home part but the other kids were just way into that "special toy" they got.

I love how the little girls in dresses are catapulting themselves over the couch to find more eggs.  :)

IKEA

When we decided to homeschool this next school year, I thought it would be a *great* idea to use some of that tuition $ on homeschool organization.  I love to organize and I've always wanted to go to IKEA so it was just decided that we would make the trip.  Brian and I just went up for a day and it was so much fun.  We were there for almost 6 hours, I think.  I could barely walk after that.

Highlights: getting on and off the elevator on the same floor--my bad, getting lost in the parking lot and realizing we had parked on the other side of the store (flat bed cart and shopping cart were in tow), racing through the store to get 1 of 2 desks left in our color and size (I had picked this out ahead of time so I knew I wanted it and the sales clerk said it "almost never happens" that there is a desk left when it's down to such small stock on the weekends), going through the store against the arrows multiple times because we're rebellious like that--and lost.  I think we should make this an annual event but then we wouldn't be saving $ compared to private school so maybe not... (Although, I already have my new bathroom vanity picked out.)

Brian requested his picture be taken with the cowhide rug.  Gross.  He said this would be his purchase if he was single.  Seriously.  You can also see a bit of his most favorite thing at IKEA in this picture--the cart.  I didn't care for the gliding feature but I guess it was neat.
 A full van!

We tried out the Swedish Meatballs.  What is not pictured is the chocolate cake we had a few hours later (because we were still there!)--that was good!

Catch Up!

I feel like life has been busy and I haven't updated the blog in a bit.  Here is a random post of pics and info:
Nathan and Hunter are enjoying their shakes on this horrible sick day.  I had Nathan into Urgent Care right when it opened and I took Hunter after supper the same day.  Both had strep and ear infections.  They deserved the ice cream!!

I took Hunter and Lily to see "Bye Bye Birdie" because my sister directed the play at the school she teaches at.  Lily borrowed this dress to wear for the evening and was sooooo cute!!

I thought this was super funny...a)he's laughing while holding a joke book and b) he grabbed Hunter's Tag reader and the joke book, which is pretty smart.  The Tag does read books...just not the joke book.  :)

A semi-rare event of Samuel and Nathan enjoying each other.  Nathan is actually sitting on Samuel but they both think it's funny.

I made this.  It's not the best pic but, still, that's impressive.

Another silly picture of the 2 young ones.  Samuel asks to have his picture taken every now and then.  Nathan is just a ham.

Today was nearly 80 degrees and a good opportunity to get Nathan outside.  The 3 older ones spent most the day out there, of course.  Nathan does not care to walk in grass but he will crawl.  He also doesn't care to swing.  Poor guy has feet that are impossible to fit with shoes so I had to order some online...maybe he'll like walking outside better once he has those on!!

I think that's it.  Just trying to keep everyone healthy and trying to keep up with the messy house.  It's exhausting.
