Snow Fun

Nathan learned about 'O for Opposites' this week.  We played a game to see if we could figure out the opposites of these printable cards:

He painted o's to decorate his letter:

Samuel kept pretty busy this week.  He enjoys finding numbers on his chart...doesn't sound super fun but he enjoys it so we do it!

It was a pretty quiet week with Hunter and Lily.  There wasn't a whole lot of extras in their curriculum this week.  We are still learning about Ancient Greece.  They are doing well with their English--I'm enjoying how easy it is to use!

We took a day off this week to hang out with my parents on a stormy day.  We made up all the work on Friday so it wasn't really a big deal.  I counted our school days this week and we are on track to finish before Memorial Day.  We'll be ready to get outside once spring comes.  However, we did have some nice weather this week and got outside to enjoy it.

While I was taking pictures, Hunter was too busy to go sledding down the stairs but he did eventually give it a try.  :)  They loved it but the snow got icier as the week went on and now it's cold again!

Happy Valentine's Day

Nathan learned about the letter 'V' this week.  V for Valentine's Day but also for vision, which entered some fun about the 5 senses.  We played a game with pictures and he remembered it for days--he'd ask me if we taste (whatever it was) or smell it and etc.  :)

We started reading a new book this week.  The kids think they like it just because the picture is interesting (to them)--it's a cyclops.  We'll see how they like it as we get going.

Samuel and I played a star search game with 2-letter blends and he did pretty well.  He was very focused on WINNING!  Ha!

Lily's taken time from her usual math work to really focus on learning multiplication so she's doing a lot of drill and a lot of games online.  Nathan finds anything electronic interesting so he joined her this day.

This picture was sent my another Mom.  They boys were working on engineering this night.  Loved seeing this picture!

We did do a tiny bit of schoolwork today, on Valentine's Day, but just enough to keep them busy.  Otherwise, we enjoyed the relaxed day and the Valentines we were given.

2 Weeks

Last week was another busy one with Samuel's birthday coming and going.  This week has been just as busy with snow, Brian home and just the usual thing.  I haven't taken near enough pictures of school time but we've been busy!  I'm in the planning stage for next year--figuring out what works, what doesn't and who needs something special.  :)

We did a science experiment to make a see through egg:

Nathan has been busy making hearts in many different ways:

A few pictures from Samuel's 7th birthday:

He said his birthday was "awesome" so that is good since we didn't go anywhere this year.  He picked Pizza Ranch for his restaurant and we saw family and just hung out.  He loves to play and he got some toys he's really been wanting so he was happy to just be home.  :)
