Week 25

Another full week!  Nathan and I started The Story About Ping and unpacked our China box.

We painted a duck with oil and then painted both ducks with water to see the difference.

Our art project this week was to create a picture from shapes.  Here they are in order: Nathan made a flying refrigerator with a generator, Samuel made a tree house, Hunter made Rome and Lily made a bird.

We had a bowling field trip:

Samuel completed book 2 in Barton so he got a prize!

Lily earned money washing McGee this week:

Such a cute picture and it makes Samuel so happy when the cat lays with him.  :)

Week 23

This week was a great week to get schoolwork done!  Nathan started a study on the poem Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost.  All the kids joined him in making snowflakes out of tortillas.  We baked them and then added powdered sugar for a snack.

Lily started learning about diamante poems and we wrote the 1st one together.  She's now working on her 2nd one.

For art this week, we learned how to weave paper into a heart but this was harder than it looked!

Nathan matching animal tracks with the animal:

Nathan's animal poem and drawing.  He chose a wolf.

One day we had a long chapter reading out of Mary Poppins and all the boys fell asleep.  Hunter and Nathan are below:

Samuel is in this one:

We had a field trip to Orange Leaf yogurt and the kids enjoyed filling a bowl after the tour:

Nathan creating his own snowy woods:

Samuel started using tangrams in math this week.  He enjoys being able to create different shapes!

Hunter's happy math face!  We are working on carrying with multiplying bigger numbers and he's not a fan.  :)

For history this week, we worked on a salt dough map of the division of Israel.
Hunter is playing Judah:

Samuel is placing Israel:

Lily is adding water for the Dead Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River.

Week 22

A little late updating but it's been busy!  New month and another birthday!!!  Plus, we had a plumbing issue that ended up costing us another day of school.

We read Katy and the Big Snow and Nathan planned his own town, with the cat's help!

We took Thursday off to celebrate Samuel's 10th birthday!!  It was a fun day and we had a family party this weekend.  Birthday parties are done for a bit!

On Friday, we finished up school early because we were getting 2 extra kids for the day!  We had a lot of fun watching Ezra and Hannah!
