Week 23

This week was a great week to get schoolwork done!  Nathan started a study on the poem Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost.  All the kids joined him in making snowflakes out of tortillas.  We baked them and then added powdered sugar for a snack.

Lily started learning about diamante poems and we wrote the 1st one together.  She's now working on her 2nd one.

For art this week, we learned how to weave paper into a heart but this was harder than it looked!

Nathan matching animal tracks with the animal:

Nathan's animal poem and drawing.  He chose a wolf.

One day we had a long chapter reading out of Mary Poppins and all the boys fell asleep.  Hunter and Nathan are below:

Samuel is in this one:

We had a field trip to Orange Leaf yogurt and the kids enjoyed filling a bowl after the tour:

Nathan creating his own snowy woods:

Samuel started using tangrams in math this week.  He enjoys being able to create different shapes!

Hunter's happy math face!  We are working on carrying with multiplying bigger numbers and he's not a fan.  :)

For history this week, we worked on a salt dough map of the division of Israel.
Hunter is playing Judah:

Samuel is placing Israel:

Lily is adding water for the Dead Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River.
