Week 25

Lily started another class at the homeschool building so our weeks are a little shorter right now.

In history, we played a Victorian game called "Pass the Slipper". We're learning about missionaries now so we'll get to watch a movie next week!

In science, we are trying to grow some bacteria on agar plates.

We had a fun art project that I didn't get a picture of.  We finished our read aloud so we're starting a fun book this week.  The last book was a little more serious about hiding Jewish children during WWII.  Samuel is on his last reading lesson in Book 4 of Barton and will start his post-test soon.  Everyone is moving along in their work!!

Not school related but whenever Lily is gone, Nathan loves to take over her room.  Haha!  The cat can almost always be found in Lily's bed!

Week 24

I always remember pics for art time!  We made snowman mobiles:

We're starting a new unit in history.  This lesson centered on Queen Victoria and British colonialism so the kids are copying maps:

We celebrated our 100 days of school and Valentine's Day together.  We had school but did fun things all day, like putting together this terrarium:

We played  Go Fish and War for Math fun:

The kids also were able to go sledding this week:

Week 23

We had another week with a snow day but, otherwise,  it was a quiet week and we were able to get plenty done!!

Hunter and Lily are playing a game in this picture.  It was a review of Spanish names for places.  We also cleaned out Spanish folders so things are more organized.  I don't think either child cares for Spanish and we'll try sign language in the fall.

Science time!  Filling out the kingdom booklet (archaebacteria):

Nathan and I played addition war to practice math facts:

No picture of Samuel (he's resistant) but I did get a picture of his latest build:

More winter weather expected this week but we are done with snow days unless we're going to get 6 or more inches!!  Ha!  We'll be celebrating 100 days and Valentine's Day this week!

Week 22

This week was very short!  On Monday, the twins finished up their classes at the homeschool building so we were out all day.  On Tuesday and Thursday, we had school like normal.  On Wednesday, we cancelled school because everything else in the city was closed for weather.  Ha!  On Friday, we started celebrating Samuel's birthday.  So, not a lot of work was accomplished this week.

We did do an art project:

We worked on drawing organelles within a cell:

We played a lot of Candyland at night:

Samuel's early celebration started at the remodeled Play Station:

On Saturday, we celebrated Samuel turning 12!!  I got him every kind of Takis they had at the Dollar Tree because he loves them!

I've gotten subsciption boxes for all the kids this year and Samuel's was a Minechest.  He has 2 more months of gifts coming!
