Week 29

We had a 4-day school week and we got lots done!!

Nathan is starting to learn about fractions and he thinks he is the fraction master!

Lily is ready for math but Cinders wants attention.

Hunter is playing school-approved games while he waits.

We learned about gluten and had a fun experiment!!

Nathan is spelling with his rules nearby.  Barton is going great for all the boys!!

Electrical experiments:

Samuel taking selfies when I'm not around.  :)  I was happy because he never wants his picture taken during school.

Cinders loves her Lily!!  :)

We dyed Easter eggs on Friday to get ready for Easter weekend.
We have Monday off, as well, for the holiday weekend.  I can't believe it's the last 2 months of school already!!

Week 28

Nathan isn't looking too excited with math in this picture.  Ha!  We're enjoying the break from the usual and working with tangrams and the scale.

Drawing lessons are always a hit.  We'll have to continue this next school year!

Science experiment on yeast. The yeast + sugar mix inflated the balloon.  This was a quick, easy and fun experiment for our nutrition book.

Samuel is trying to work on Barton but Cinders is interested in his lesson.

In our science experiment kit, we started a unit on electricity.  We made the light bulb light up using paper clips, rubber band, wire and a battery.  It was also a hit so it was a good week for experiments!

Week 27

I have no idea what the boys are doing in this picture but I snapped a pic.  Everyday life!

 St. Patrick's Day art:

We finished our read aloud and drew pictures of our favorite part.  It was a fun book and our next book's beginning has been pretty fun so far!

Working on the floor always brings the cat out.  She hates when we sit on the floor!  The kids are working on maps here.

Samuel is showing off our science experiment results.  I bought some ph indicator strips and we tested a bunch of foods/drinks.  It was fun!

On Friday, we split up boys/girls and enjoyed a day out and about.  We didn't take a spring break (although we took a day to hang with some cousins) so this was a fun end to a more relaxed week.

Week 26

This was a pretty normal week of school.  We got lots done!  This was one of our experiments with iron filings, which is why two boys cover their airways.  Ha!

Making rockets fly in art:

Nathan working on reading and grammar:

Lily made cranberry orange muffins for supper and she didn't need too much direction.

Hunter made blueberry muffins and he did pretty well being independent while baking, as well.

This is what I see every morning when I go wake Lily up.  The cat is curled up and not interested in moving for her.  Ha!  She didn't want to be in the picture.

We had Nathan's pinewood derby this week and got 1st place!!  He was so excited!!!!

Week 25

In science this week, we did a taste test to see if the kids could pick out the real sugar (vs. stevia).  Everyone got it right!

Nathan is working on time, notice the brain next to him, plus the chocolate milk and the cat blanket.  He always has a lot of school help.  :)

We had donuts with our supervising teacher this week at a new donut shop.  This was the best pic I could get of these kids.

Also this week, we took the twins out driving.  It was terrifying.  Ha!
