Week 5

This week of school was only 3 days so Nathan got a nice break!  Brian and I took off for a fall trip to visit my nephew and his wife at their home.  It was a  really fun time together!  Back to school on Monday!

Week 4

We were back at our studies this week but we also had our supervising teacher visit on Monday and a half day Friday.  We worked on our first map project and then made homemade stamps from dough that we are currently drying.  We'll be using them to make some cuneiform writing prints soon.  Nathan is also working on his first writing assignment, starting off with a paragraph about an object.  He chose a snowball--yay!!  We are winter fans. :)

Week 3

Unrelated to our school year but exciting news:  Lily started a new job!  This is her first day picture.  She is really kept busy at this new childcare center

This is the art project Nathan worked on during read aloud this week.  It's fun to see his answers!

We had Labor Day this week so another short week.  Otherwise, I feel like it's a pretty full schedule!

Week 2

This week was a pretty busy one for us!  We did some chemistry bingo to become more familiar with the abbreviations on the periodic table.  Nathan also had his first chemistry lab and it was testing unknown powders so I set it up because I had to put the powders in cups and make the testing solutions.  After that, though, it was a completely independent lab so that was weird!  Ha!  Sam bought a new kennel thing for the puppy, which has changed our life for the better!!  Nathan did some schoolwork inside it with Teddy a couple days. :)

Unfortunately, we had to take Friday off this week due to the unexpected loss of our sweet cat, Cinders.  She was the 1st family pet and the superior family pet.  We miss her so much. 😞
