On Monday we took our annual trip to Bloomsbury Farm. It's always a fun afternoon with a ton of things for the kids to do!
These two checked out this covered wagon while Brian took the other two to the haunted houses.
Everyone liked the pig but we had just read a little about pigs so that could be why. There were also cows, donkeys, goats, turkeys, chickens, ducks and sheep for the kids to try and pet. :)
Mining for gold:
Also this week, Nathan started learning some digraphs in reading, like /th/ and /sh/. He complains about reading but I think he's doing really well.
Samuel wanted to be handcuffed to me before starting his handwriting:
Nathan doing some math-- discovering the pattern of odds and evens:
We started a unit on Mike Mulligan this week. There is a movie of the book on youtube but there was quite a bit of singing and he wasn't impressed! This is the 1st book he's really liked, though!!
We finished our read aloud (Mrs. Frisby and the Secrets of NIMH) so we watched the old cartoon, which I remember from when I was a kid. The book isn't scary at all but the movie is a little creepy.
We did some fun science to end our week--made ghosts fly! This was using an empty tea bag and we discussed why the ghost flew but Lily had guessed why! Good for her!
