Samuel is taking some time to really focus on the "ch, sh, th" sounds ("wh" was included but I'm not stressing that one). I found some great printables for him to practice with:
My supervising teacher gave me the idea of Lego math for Samuel--right now we're just counting and then he gets to put the pieces together. I bought a new set just for this purpose so he's been super motivated for school. :)
Nathan learned about 'G for Gumball' this week. Another really motivated learner right here:
We also worked on gross motor skills:
Finally, we did a "G for Germ" activity (from his curriculum) where I put lotion and glitter on his hands and then had him play with toys. We then saw how the glitter got on the things he touched, just like germs. We read a book that had pictures of bacteria and viruses under a microscope so that was of big interest to everyone.
For Konos, we finished up our unit on royalty. The kids created coat-of-arms:
Practiced some embroidery skills:
Created their own castles online:
Hunter and Lily picked one ruler and studied them. They picked a picture and then dictated a paper on the ruler while I typed it. Hunter chose Richard the Lionheart and Lily chose Marie-Antoinette.
Of course, the kids made crowns:
We also decorated our own tea set:
And had a tea party!
Saturday was the Blue and Gold Banquet where Hunter finished up Cub Scouts!!
